Reworking the West
The Spring Summer 21 collection is inspired by the simple action of wrapping the humble South East Asian garment - a Sarong. We sought out to rethink and reimagine how we can re-write Western garments with a Nanyang or South East Asian tone. What better way to start with a basic teeshirt?
This draped tee is constructed in a rather “unfamiliar” way on the draped bodice. Just like how a Sarong is extended, wrapped, held in place by a fold and left to drape, the asymmetrical bodice of this tee is constructed in the exact same way.
Fabricated in soft rayon and cotton blend, this draped tee is soft to touch, falls and wraps gently on the wearer’s body just like how a sarong does.
